A 1938 Kitchen Remodel
A 1938 Kitchen Remodel That Blends Character, Craftsmanship, and Fresh New Function
It all begins with an idea – the vision of taking a dated 1938 kitchen and transforming it into a brighter, cleaner, and more functional space while still respecting the character of the home.
This remodel started with a kitchen that needed more than cosmetic updates. From the damaged ceiling and outdated wall coverings to worn finishes and no visual appeal, the space was ready for a complete remodel. The goal was to create a kitchen that felt warm, welcoming, and usable for everyday living while keeping with the era of the home.
The project included repairing and refinishing the ceiling, updating the walls, replacing the cabinetry, replacing & relocating the water heater, adding updated hardware, installing a classic subway tile backsplash, moving the refrigerator into the kitchen from the dining room, and incorporating a new range hood for a more finished look. The homeowner’s wall color choice adds personality and charm, while the white cabinets and tile brighten the room and make the space feel larger and more open.
Every detail helped bring new life to this historic kitchen — from the cleaner lines and improved lighting to the cabinets, backsplash, trim, and finishes. The result is a beautiful & timeless transformation that honors the age of the home while giving the homeowners a kitchen that feels fresh, functional, and full of character.
